Mayday 2021 - CANCELLED AGAIN, 2022 it will continue!

Background: Welcome to Mayday, the biggest indoor rave in Germany! In the beginning, in 1991, the Mayday (English for SOS call) took place in Berlin Weißensee and they wanted to support the first German techno radio station DT64, which was on the verge of collapse at the time due to reunification. Politicians created new transmission areas for MDR, NDR and ORB and DT64 did not fit in there, the transmission area of which extended over the five new federal states (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Berlin-Brandenburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia). Despite the very successful first event with almost 5,000 visitors, DT64 was switched off in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the end of 1991 and in Berlin-Brandenburg at the beginning of 1992.
Due to the high number of visitors, the Mayday was repeated in 1992, but DT64 was also switched off in the other federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Due to its success, the Mayday continued to take place. DJ WestBam, who until February 2014 took part in all 60 Mayday events except one in the Netherlands, produced the Mayday anthems together with the Members Of Mayday. Along with his brother Fabian Lenz, who had the idea for Mayday, he has been a competitor since day 1. Unfortunately, there were irreconcilable differences with the new organizer, which is why WestBam has been going a different way since 2014.
Mayday celebrates under a different theme every year and has had offshoots in Poland, Russia and Hungary. Here, too, we are always looking forward to great lighting effects and scene stars from all over the world.

Background: The Ikarus Festival, which takes place at the former Memmingen military airport, has only been held annually since 2015. The name was chosen carefully - the organizers have chosen a name that everyone has heard before, but which nobody can directly imagine. Icarus comes from Greek mythology. In recent years, visitors have been able to choose between 6 different stages of different designs, orientations and music genres. From House to Techno, Goa and Electro. Four of the six stages are in halls, three of which are old aircraft hangars (“Hade”, “Onos”, “Medusa”) and another in the circus tent “Minos Tent”. Around the site there are wooded areas and Memmingen Airport. In 2019, almost 50,000 people found their way to the Ikarus Festival.
PollerWiesen Festival 2020

Background: The PollerWiesen Festival has also been around for quite a while. In 1993, the first venue was the Poller Wiesen in Cologne's Poll district. Started as an illegal open-air rave, PollerWiesen currently takes place up to four times a year (PollerWiesen Opening in the Jugendpark Cologne, PollerWiesen Festival in the Revierpark Wischlingen Dortmund, PollerWiesen Closing again in Cologne and PollerWiesen Boot Eins und Zwei from Cologne). The festival has only been legally registered annually since 2003. For the 25th anniversary, almost 10,000 techno enthusiasts came to the festival in 2018, and in 2019 there were even 12,000. Anyone who visits the PollerWiesen Festival will quickly notice that it feels wonderfully real. The people here love and live techno - reason enough to pay a visit to the PollerWiesen Festival 2020.

Dreamy affair 2020

Background: Founded in 2019, in 2020 it is already one of our must see festivals for this year - the Dreamy Affair Open Air by Pappenheimer, the all-rounder in the German field of electronic dance music. If you like Pappenheimer even just a little bit, you should not miss this small but nice event. In the spirit of his "Traumige Affair" sets on Soundcloud, the forest stage is melodic, while you can stomp to decent downhill-like techno on the bridge stage. In 2019, the event was able to inspire with a family atmosphere, a good range of food and brilliant acts. In 2020 there will definitely be another shovel.

Fusion Festival 2020

Background: Ah, the Fusion Festival 🥰 The Fusion Festival (pronunciation: ['fjuːʒən], also written in Cyrillic: ФУЗИОН) is not just a music festival, it's much more than that! It is a music festival including cultural accompaniment such as theatre, art installations and performance art. The Fusion is definitely a MUST SEE for every raver! It has been held annually at the military airfield in Lärz near Lake Müritz since 1997 and lasts four days, from Thursday to Sunday. Around 70,000 visitors now come to celebrate in harmony with the music, with themselves and with all other visitors and simply enjoy the off-world. You will not only find electronic music like techno, minimal and house here. But also, for example, hip-hop, reggae, ska, punk or rock. Believe me - absolute feel-good place. It's not called the "European Burning Man Festival" for nothing.

Ruhr in Love 2020

Background: The Ruhr-in-Love (short: RiL) takes place annually in summer and is carried out by i-Motion GmbH, which is also known for the Nature One Festival. On June 28th, 2013 the first event took place in the Nordsternpark in Gelsenkirchen. Already in the following year we switched to the OLGA Park in Oberhausen. There are many different stages at the Ruhr-in-Love, as well as a main floor with well-known DJs and live acts from the techno, trance and house scenes. The eve&rave Münster e. V. Drug information stand. A huge festival with tons of stages, where there should be something for everyone. True to the motto: from hard to tender. Must have experienced!
Feel Festival 2020

Background: Parookaville (short: PV) has been taking place for three days a year since 2015, right on the border with the Netherlands. In 2019, a whopping 210,000 visitors found their way to PV. This makes it one of the largest festivals in Europe. Parookaville is known for its extraordinary concept in which the entire festival is staged as a city. It is named after the fictional founding father Bill Parooka. Instead of tickets there are visas, here you are not a visitor but a citizen. The entire festival area is divided into districts. Among other things, you will find elements such as the town hall, the church, the post office or the prison, where you can get a tattoo.
The initiator of the festival is Bernd Dicks, who as a 1Live reporter has reported on festivals from all over the world and thus discovered his love for electronic dance music and a "hunger of young people for a festival show concept like Tomorrowland". Dicks had witnessed the Loveparade catastrophe as senior ARD reporter and explained: "After the Loveparade, a real vacuum had emerged in the electronic festival landscape. The hunger for something new was great."

Background: The Time Warp Festival, which has found its permanent venue in the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim since 2000, is one of the oldest festivals of electronic dance music in Germany. Since 1994 you can leave everyday stress behind and let yourself drift in a sea of electronic sounds and booming basses to the sounds of Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier or Carl Cox, who played with the first Time Warp. The Time Warp Festival is at home in Germany, but has meanwhile taken place in many other countries, such as the Netherlands, Brazil, Austria, the Czech Republic and Italy.
